The West Virginia native had toiled away at various jobs including making toilets before he was introduced to Sussex Records head Clarence Avant. "Ain't No Sunshine" is a mellow ballad that's awash with soothing strings as Withers' folksy drawls emote that there's darkness when the love of his life is missing.

Unfortunately, a soundtrack remains a collection of oldies, newer songs, and score excerpts, no matter how much you shake it up, and that's the case here. Much of this is quite enjoyable -- it's hard to go wrong with such pop classics as Bill Withers ' "Ain't No Sunshine," Al Green 's "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart," and Spencer Davis Group's.

The definitive collection and most comprehensive on the market today. Includes his #1 pop and R&B classic 'Lean on Me', the million selling singles, 'Ain't No Sunshine' and 'Use Me', his collaboration with Grover Washington Jr.. 'Just the Two of Us' and many more. Almost twice as many tracks as the closest domestic equivalent/5(92).

There’s a lot of variety here, with songs from the Goo Goo Dolls (“Iris”), Adele (“Feel My Love”), Cee Lo (“I Want You”), Prince (“Purple Rain”), k.d. lang (“Constant Craving”), Bill Withers (“Ain’t No Sunshine”), Otis Redding (“Try a Little Tenderness”), and others, and tracks are spread well across various eras.
